​​​My name's Sean and I'm from Wales in the UK. I live in Barcelona and I practise psychotherapy online in English for people in Barcelona or anywhere in the world. I’m an experienced, certified psychotherapist; and a registered psychologist in Spain. I work in English and Spanish but most of my clients are expats who speak first or second language English and work in multinationals in Barcelona. My approach to psychotherapy is broadly psychodynamic (or psychoanalytic).

Strain and anxiety and loss are universal experiences. Therapy is a way of creating space to attend to your concerns and your emotional world. Expressing yourself consistently and receiving non-judgemental feedback is a means of organising and processing experiences, emotions, thoughts and feelings. By consistently paying attention to your idiosyncratic experience, you are able to change and adapt and come to terms with your way of being.
My approach to therapy
At a master's level I did joint specialisations in psychodynamic (psychoanalytic) psychotherapy and constructivist therapy; and I did my clinical training at a public mental health centre in Barcelona where the dominant method is psychodynamic therapy. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is one of the dominate forms of talking based psychotherapy in public and private therapy practice. It has it's origens in psychoanalysis, but has come a long way since Freud and is now a throughly contemporary method. In my experience it is the most complete and rich in its approach to therapy, self-reflection, and personal experince. That said there are a variety of well established and serious approaches to therapy and all have something to offer. I also have postgraduate training in Gestalt Therapy and Mindfulness for clinical practice. My approach to therapy methods and theory is pragmatic and flexible.
